Adkins, Maggie (Marriage - 22 APR 1890)
Married, at the residence of the bride's parents, in the town of
Hewett, Clark County, Tuesday last, by the Rev. W. T. Hendren, Mr.
James Paulus to Miss Maggie Adkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Adkins.
Jim was pretty sly about this business. Mr. Adkins tells us that he
had expected to take Maggie with him to Kentucky, but Jim came over
with Mr. Hendren and stole his daughter before he could recover
from the surprise sufficiently to offer an objection. But Jim has
done perfectly right. Any young man who allows a marriageable girl
to escape from Clark County does not deserve recognition in
society. We join with Jim's host of friends in wishing the young
couple all the happiness possible.
