Huntzicker, Mary J. (Marriage - 6 DEC 1891)

Married, at the residence of the bride, in this city, Sunday, Dec. 6th, 1891, by T. G. Owen, Mr. Homer M. Root to Mary J. Huntzicker, both of Neillsville, Clark County.

Mr. Root is well known throughout the county and this part of the state, having been extensively engaged in lumbering and farming in the northern part of the county for many years, in partnership with B.F. Thompson, and for the past three years the popular county clerk of this county. Mrs. Huntzicker, who formerly resided near Greenwood, purchased the elegant residence in the south part of the city about two years ago, which she has since occupied, and which will be the future home of Mr. and Mrs. Root. Both of the parties to this marriage have made many warm friends during the time they have resided in this city, whose best wishes and congratulations, together with those of the Republican and Press, are extended to the newly married couple.

Homer is a "sly coon," and succeeded in keeping the whole thing secret until the ceremony was over.
