REIL 60th ANNIVERSARY
-----ANNIVERSARIES-----
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Reil celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 12.
Ben Reil and
Edith Olson were married in Colby on Sept. 12, 1933. They moved to
Oshkosh in 1937. Mr. Reil worked at the Waite Carpet Co. until he started his
own business in 1941. He retired in 1975. Mrs. Reil worked at the Excelsior
Plant and Social Services, retiring in 1981.
They have one son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Reil six grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
They were both avid bowlers and
are past presidents of the Eagles Club. Mr. Reil also enjoyed fishing trips to
Canada.
A family reunion was held in
August at the home of the couple to celebrate the event. Relatives came from
Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Alabama, Texas and Illinois. About 150 guests were
present.
Dinner was served, and Mr. and
Mrs. Reil were presented with flowers and two anniversary cakes.
The Reils spend part of the year
in Harlingen, Texas, and the other part in their home on Lake Butte des Morts.
