Owen, Hallie D. (Marriage - 28 AUG 1895)
Wednesday, Aug. 28th, 1895, occurred the marriage of Miss Hallie D. Owen to W.W. Powell, at the residence of the bride's father, T.G. Owen. This was a very quiet affair, only near relatives being in attendance. The parlors were very beautifully decorated with flowers and rich draperies, and at exactly noon the piano sounded the stains of a very pretty march, which brought the couple into position, and T.G. Owen pronounced the words that made them man and wife.
The bride is the accomplished and talented daughter of T. G. Owen of this place (Neillsville Clark County), and has a host of friends in Trempealeau County. Mr. Powell is a young man gifted with exceptionally fine newspaper qualities and is interested in the scheme which will undoubtedly give La Crosse and eight page morning daily. He has shown excellent taste in choosing a life partner.
The happy couple left on the afternoon train yesterday on a tour through the south. We join the many offering congratulations. (Arcadian, Arcadia, Wis.)
