In 1905, Charles D. Hinkley was forty years old, living in a rented home in Abbotsford, Clark Co., WI and working as a conductor for the railroad. He was born in Michigan and his thirty-three year old wife, Margaret A. was born in Canada but her father, like her husband had been born in Michigan. Her mother was a Canadian. Charles and Margaret had a teenage daughter, Margaurite J., who had been born in the badger state in 1891 and was a big help to her mother with doing the housework.
