Ernest Gotlieb Poppe was born Dec. 7, 1865 in Poole, Ontario, Canada. At
the age of 9 he came with his parents to Clark County.
June 13, 1892 he was united in marriage to Josephine Ozias and to this union
were born nine children, two of whom preceded him in death. Ernst and
Josephine purchased a farm in section 19, Longwood Township, Clark Co., WI.
They were faithful members of the Longwood Congregational Church.
