Elmer Anthony Brown
Elmer Anthony Brown was the proprietor of the general store (pictured below) and Christie Hall at Christie. He was born in Wrightstown, Brown County, Nov. 12, 1866. He moved to Clark County in 1881.
June 25, 1889, Elmer married Edith Remena Grant in East Wrightstown, WI. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Gilman & Susan Carrie (Gifford) Grant, a lineal descendant of General Ulysses S. Grant. Eventually, he became proprietor of the Christie General Store and the Christie Hall, known then for its fine dancing floor. Brown married Edith Grant, of Wrightstown, who was They had two daughters, Nina and Lucile.
