resident of Holland town Henry Micke was called to his eternal resting place
Saturday morning at 6 3:00. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Henry
Micke was born in Germany 87 years ago, coming to this country 50 years ago
settling at Holland where he has made his home since. He is one of the oldest
and best known pioneers of this community. His wife died several years ago. He
is survived by the following children, Henry, of Thorpe; Barney, Theodore, Mrs.
Onkels, Mrs. Jaeckels and Mrs. Wittmann of Holland town and one daughter Lizzie
who's in the convent at Racine. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at
St. Francis Catholic Church with internment in the family lot. Deceased was a
kind father and husband and a good neighbor. He was a devout Christian. He was a
man of many good qualities which won him his large circle of friends. Henry Micke and old and respected citizen of Dundas died early Saturday
morning at the home of his son, Theodore, with whom he had been making his home.
Deceased was a member of St. Francis and St. Joseph societies who attended the
funeral in the body. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from St.

on Saturday, Dec. 28, 1929, after an extended illness of cancer. Deceased was
born at Hollandtown, Wis., on Jan. 12, 1860, and had reached the age of 69
years, 11 months and 16 days. Upon reaching manhood he was united in marriage to
Miss Helen Koberson at Hollandtown and thirty-four years ago came to Thorp,
Clark County, Wis., where they have continued to reside. Besides his wife he
leaves to mourn, two sons, William and Leo of Milwaukee, three daughters, Mrs.
Elizabeth Welk and Miss Katherine Micke of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Peyton of Los
Angeles, Calif., and two brothers, Barney Micke of Dundas, Wis., and Theo. Micke
of Hollandtown; also three sisters, Mrs. George Onkels and Mrs. Mike Whitman of
Hollandtown and Sister Cunnigunda, Clinton, Ind. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father
A. M. Muckerheide officiating, after which the body was taken to Milwaukee for

struck by train #17 on the Ashland Div. last Saturday and instantly killed.
Micke had just started out to do some work in his district upon the roads and
was struck while crossing the track at Dundas hill. He was badly crushed, one
horse also being killed, the other managing to break away. The fireman on the
locomotive saw Micke approaching the track, but supposed he would stop and let
the train pass, as it was in full view of the road. No danger signal aside from

Kaukauna Age 97, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Franciscan Care Center
in Appleton. Cecelia was born in Kaukauna on September 17, 1906; daughter of the
late Balthus and Magdalena (Yingling) Hoffman. In June of 1925, she married
Theodore Wittman in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death. Many will remember
Cecelia as a great homemaker, cook, and gardener; she was also a longtime and
faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. In her later years, she
enjoyed playing bingo and watching television. For six years, she lived with her
daughter Marlene, and loved spending time with the family dog, Penny. Cecelia is survived by a daughter, Marlene (Richard) Evers of Appleton; a
son, Marvin (Mary Ann) Wittman of Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Jean Wittman,
Dan (Betty) Wittman, Kenneth (Ann) Wittman, Patricia (Mark) Fuller, Donald (Kay)
Wittman, Troy Evers, and Todd (Shelly) Evers; ten great-grandchildren: Jake
Wittman, Micah, Eli, and Tekoa Wittman, Allison, Carolyn, and Matthew Evers, and
Maria, Krista, and Peter Fuller; a sister, Helen Taylor of Green Bay; as well as
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her husband Ted Wittman, brothers Simon, Reinhold, Joseph,
Matthew, Henry, Michael, and Charlie Hoffman; and a sister Mary Faust. The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2003 at
ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert
Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the hour of

late Charles and Theresa (Micke) Peterson. In 1960, she married Orville "Slim"
Krieck, and the couple operated Meadows Riding Stable for many years. Ethel is survived by two daughters: Shirley (David) Mulroy, Fremont; JoAnn
(Robert) VerKuilen, Little Chute; three sons: Richard (Sallie) Porto, New
Berlin; Donald (Patricia) Porto, Bakersfield, California; Moxy Krieck, Bayside;
fifteen grandchildren: Stephanie (Greg) Berger, Valerie Mulroy, Shaun (Anita)
Mulroy, Andy Mulroy, Daniel Mulroy, and Katina Mulroy; Mark (Teresa) VerKuilen,
Karen Williams, and Stacy (Kevin) Doucette; Lisa (John) Egan, Tristan Porto, and
Angela Porto; David Porto, Scott Porto, and Sara Porto; seven
great-grandchildren: James Mulroy, Sadie Mulroy, Andrea, Grant, Stone and

and Thresa (Micke) Peterson. Florence married Jake Lamers on June 1, 1943 at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He preceded her in death on January 22,
2003. The couple farmed near Kimberly, then at Mackville from 1954 until 1958
when they moved to Kimberly. Florence was a devoted wife and mother. After her
children were raised, she worked as an elderly home aid for Outagamie County,
retiring in 1985. She was a member of Holy Name Parish. Florence enjoyed
flowers, needlepoint, poetry, classical music, card games and she was an
accomplished writer and Scrabble player. She was a dear soul, always placing the
needs of other before her own. Florence is survived by her loving children, Judy (Dennis) Schumacher,
Wrightstown; Ralph "Sam"(Mary) Lamers, Kimberly; Diane (Pat) Piette, Oshkosh;
Sharry Vander Velden, Kimberly; Al (Debbie) Lamers, Darboy; Tracey Lamers,
Verona; Chris (Jean) Lamers, Kaukauna; a daughter-in-law Nancy Lamers, Oshkosh;
19 Grandchildren: Laurie (Len) Fredrickson, Marty (Fianc, Noreen) Schumacher,
Brett Lamers, Kim (Chris) Lindroth, Luke (Mari), Mike (Stacy) and Joe Lamers;

the care of his family and Affinity Hospice. He was born on December 14, 1920,
the youngest of 13 children of the late Jacob and Petronella (Van Domelen)
Lamers. Jake married Florence Peterson on June 1, 1943 at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Sherwood. The couple farmed near Kimberly, then at Mackville from 1954
until 1958 when they moved to their present home in Kimberly. Jake delivered
milk door-to-door for Lamers Dairy for many years retiring in 1985. Later he
worked part-time for U.S. Oil Co. in Combined Locks. He was a faithful member of
Holy Name Church in Kimberly where he belonged to the adult choir. Jake enjoyed
gardening, picking hickory nuts, playing cards and singing. He belonged to the
Barbershop Harmony Society and sang with the Kaukauna and Appleton Barbershop
Choruses and numerous quartets for most of his adult life. He was devoted to his
family and helped others whenever he was needed. Jake is survived by his wife, Florence Lamers of Kimberly; seven children:
Judy (Dennis) Schumacher of Wrightstown; Ralph "Sam" (Mary) Lamers of Kimberly;
Diane (Pat) Piette of Oshkosh; Sharry Vander Velden of Kimberly; Al (Debbie)

HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Robert

call on Friday directly at the church from 2:00 PM until the hour of the

(Hoffman) Wittman. She married Richard Evers on September 1, 1956. Marlene was a
lover of life who enjoyed fishing and would spend 14 hours a day on the shore.
She also enjoyed attending auctions and landscaping her lawn, especially with
flowers. Marlene is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons: Troy and Todd
(Michele) Evers; her brother, Marvin (Mary Ann) Wittman; grandchildren: Allison,
Carolyn and Matthew; and her beloved dog, Teddy Bear. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 5, 2004, at ST.
THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, with Rev.
Gerald Falk officiating. Visitors will be received at the church on Friday,
March 5 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. The family would like to extend special thanks to THEDACARE At Home Hospice,
especially Kelly, for their loving care of Marlene. As an expression of
sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Marlene was very supportive of
