Earl Alger was born September 2, 1892 in Thorp, Clark County, Wisconsin. He was the son of George Henry and Laura Alma (Craig) Alger. November 22, 1915, he married Josephine VanHulst who was born July 3, 1900*. He was a truck driver with a great sense of humor. Jan. 16th, 1951, he passed away in Kaukauna, Wisconsin at the age of eighty-four.

By the way, the birth date you show on the site for Josephine is incorrect, she was born on March 7, 1900* and I believe Earl died in 1976. I’m not positive of that date but can find the actual date if you’d like.
It was great to see the pictures of my grandfather, especially the one of him as a boy/young man. Seeing that picture confirmed something I’ve wondered for some time. I’ve wondered if my grandson might look like my grandfather and now having seen that picture I know, I have a grandson that looks remarkably like him. Fay (Alger) Portmann
