Farm about 3 miles from "Fort Clatsop" where Lewis & Clark stayed for the
winter, close to Astoria, Oregon. Lee is the Grandson of Andrew Shoop, and son
of Samuel & Edna Shoop. Lee was born in Neillsville, WI. Samuel Shoop is the son

Since Sam Shoop had a
grave marker at Neillsville City
Cemetery with no birth or death date I
unknowingly assumed he
was buried there.
Upon further
discussion with his grandson Kenneth Shoop from Oregon I found I was incorrect.
After Olive's
death Sam married a second time to Edna Colburn on 8
Sept 1897 in
Shortville, Clark
Co., WI. Edna Colburn Shoop was born 30 Nov. 1879

Andrew and
Susana also had a son, Samuel Shoop, who was born about 1862
in Neillsville and died about 1952 in Oregon and is buried
in Claskanine, Oregon. He married Olive Ozios abt.
1890 near Greenwood, Wis. Samuel was married twice -His first wife died
after a short marriage. Archie Shoop was Sam's Son and he
died in Portland Oregon. He always came to Warenton for Xmas
and Thanksgiving Dinner. I remember him well. Sam --by
his first wife --had a daughter also, and by his second
wife, Enda Shoop. -- my grandma that was born in about
1876,d. about 1970. She and Sam had about 10 kids --one
daughter named Olive(mmm) - I figured he named her after
his first wife (Olive Oriz).

Notice how old the house was in 1910? The rust is running off of the nail heads
on the siding. And in the very center the "well dressed" young man? Who was
he? You can see the timber on the right side of the house. The rest were dressed
very common. Samuel was an Oxen driver -- in the mountains there, at age 48.
They all came out in 1907, renting a railroad car. Jaynes was 51, when he made
the trip!
Far (lower) - -right Grandparents - Edna & Sam Shoop about 85, and Edna about 68.
Their Children Carl, Norman, George, Lee, Archie, Neal, and Olive and Gladys (Shoop)
and many grandkids -Ken , Jerry, David, Rose, Gladys, Robert, Delores, Anna
Mae, Shirley Ray, and husbands and wives of the Shoop's.
Neal, Gladys, Olive, and Glen, were in the exodus of the 1907 journey in a
rented box car from Neillsville to La Center, Wash. with the Shoop/Colburn family.
