Family Early Clark Co.
Wisconsin Pioneers
The Voge family moved from Lormira, Wisconsin in the
late 1800's to Colby, Wisconsin onto an 80 acre farm on the north-east end of
town. They raised crops, cattle and horses. The Voge men would race these
horses on the weekends. The oldest, son Adolph E. Voge, married Grace F.
Miller from Park Falls, Wisconsin. They bought an 80 acre farm just west
of the new town of Abbotsford. He farmed and built the county's first
school bus, it was horse drawn with windows and had a pot-belly stove in the
back to keep the children warm in the winter. Adolph would deliver and pickup
children from over 7 miles away to Dor-Abby school. The couple had 2 boys and 2
girls.
