William & Sarah (Braiser/Brasure)

William was born February 18, 1821 to
Samuel and Ann Darton near London, England. September 19, 1842, he married
his wife, Sarah who was the sixteen year old daughter of John Francis and
Elizabeth (Pegg) Braiser. Less than two months later, William began
serving with the Union side in the Great Civil War of the United States and
served a year before returning home. His son (brother?), Albert, also
served.
William died December 11, 1880 and is
buried in the Greenwood City Cemetery. His wife died fourteen years later
and was laid to rest at his side. They were the parents of fourteen
children, three daughters and seven sons.

William Darton was
born February 18, 1821. He enlisted with Co. "I" of
the 34th Regiment of the Wisconsin Infantry on November 24, 1862 serving as a
Sergeant
and was discharged September 8, 1863. He died December 11, 1880 and is buried
in the Greenwood, Wisconsin City Cemetery. His brother, Albert Darton of
Loyal, WI
was listed as his next of kin on his grave registration.
