Vandeberg, Chris & Florence

 

Chris Vandeberg was born to Wm. And Jessie Vandeberg in the Township of York (Clark Co., Wis.), Aug. 8, 1911.  His wife, Florence, was born to John and Elizabeth Altenburg in the town of Lynn (Clark Co.), Feb. 24, 1912.  Chris and Florence were married March 21, 1942.  They moved to the town of Levis on the former Mackeprang farm Feb. 11, 1955 from an 80 acre farm in the town of Weston, Clark Co.

 

To this union four children were born.  John Hale Vandeberg married Marie Dietz of Granton.  They have three sons and two daughters.  John "Jack" owns a large farm in the town of Lynn where he and his sons are farming.  Gloria Dawn Vandeberg married Harold Jacob.  They are now divorced.  The had a daughter, Pamela, who was killed in a car accident and is buried in Dells Dam Cemetery.  Gloria is dispatcher for Marshfield Oil Co. and lives in Marshfield.  JoAnne Florence married Montie Szydel of Fairchild and they live in Athens, Wis.  They have six sons, Georgie Ann "Dolly" married James Duerr of Goodrich.  They also live in Athens.  She has two sons.

 

All but Jack attended Meadow View School; Gloria and JoAnne graduated from there and Dolly graduated from Pine View School.

 

Chris is an avid fisherman and gardener while Florence enjoys cooking, canning and making quilts.
