Darick G. Babcock was born May 25, 1827 in Scot, Cortland Co., New York, the son of Emerson.  He was an early pioneer of Clark County, Wisconsin, settling in the area in 1869 along with his family.  He was a hard working individual who tried to do his part.

 

August 28, 1864, Darick enlisted with the Union Army as a Private and fought with Company K, 38th Wisconsin Infantry.  He was honorably discharged June 2, 1865.

 

He married Susan E. Barber, the daughter of John and Alice.

 

His daughter, Angie R., married Edward P. Waterman and lived in Granton.  Dean Collins Miller Babcock married Mary Tyler and resided in Owen, Wisconsin.  They had one daughter, Vivian (Mrs. Charles Davis) who lived in Elroy and a son, Roland of Oklahoma.  Hance Babcock married Julia Rack and resided in Centralia, Washington.

 

Darick (Darwick) Babcock died the first of October, 1910.  Susan Elizabeth (Barber) Babcock died January 12, 1899.  Both of them are buried in the Levis Cemetery, Clark Co., Wisconsin, along side their son Emerson who died November 29, 1888.
