Another daughter of James and Mathilde was Rilla May who became the bride of Carl Frederick Palmborg, a young banker in Neillsville.  They married Monday, Sept. 18, 1911 and spent their honeymoon in the Puget Sound cities and British Columbia.  They then resided in Portland, Oregon.  At that time, her father, James, was employed as the general superintendent of logging for the Wind River Lumber Company in Carson, Washington.

James and Mathilde also had a son, Albert, who was born during 1879 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

Their second son was Archie N. Researchers' Notes

I believe that you have 2 families here. I am talking about James Page & Mathilda Raymond.

James Page was my great-great grandfather's brother. He was dead by 1891, his wife Matilda was living in Valleyfield, Quebec again when the 1891 census was taken. It stated that she was widowed and her 3 children are with her, Marie-Louise (Mary), Albert and Alphonse.

My James Page and his family were in Wisconsin (Black River Falls) by 1879 when Albert was born but she returned to Quebec by 1891 after he died. I never found that date of death of my James Page. My James was born in St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec on Dec 26, 1851 to Timothy Hibbard Page & Mathilda Béland.

Mantilla died in Valleyfield January 13, 1920, Albert died in Valleyfield in 1946 and Alphonse died in Kahnawake, PQ, Canada 1923, Alphonse was killed by a train while working on a bridge.

I found your wed site very interesting, your 1880 census is correct, (that is my James Page & his family) Alphonse was born in 1881 but I never heard that my James Page had a middle name, or that he was a sheriff. and like I stated before he was dead by 1891.

Please let me know how you determined that the James Page on the 1880 US census on you web site is the J. W. Page who was the Sheriff in Clark County.

I believe that there was a James W. Page born in Black River Falls, Wis in 1854 but if his parents are not Timothy Page & Matilda Béland this is not the James Page of Quebec who married Mantilla Raymond on Oct 4, 1875 in St-Louis-de-Gonzague-de-Beauharnois, PQ, Canada.

The information that you have on his daughter Marie-Louise (Page) Richer and her children is 100% correct and that is what caught my eye.

Marie-Louise (Page) Richer died in November 1915 the web site has the obit of Archy Page who died in May 1915 and should be her brother. Marie-Louise is not listed as a survivor or her 2 brothers Albert and Alphonse Page.

Obit: Page, Archy N. (1883 - 1915)

Of his immediate family he leaves a wife and infant daughter; father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Page of Carson; and one sister, Mrs. C. F. Palmborg of Portland. To these, in this hour of overwhelming grief and bereavement, is extended the most heartfelt sympathy and consolation of the many friends.

Please let me know what you find out if anything.  Believe me I do hope it is my James Page as I have been looking for him for sometime now.
