Returns Home

 

Mrs. E. W. Lee, West Fremont, received word that her nephew, Neal V. Hansen, petty officer, second class, of the Navy Seabees, returned home Thursday, Nov. 15.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. (Mary Wenzel) Peter N. Hansen, route 2, Withee.  The Seabee enlisted in November, 1942, and was called in January, 1943.  After basic training at Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va., he was sent to the Aleutian Islands for a year, then returned to the States in March, 1944, and after a leave at home he trained further at Camp Parks, Calif.  From there he was sent to South Pacific Islands, serving the greater part of the time on the Admiralty Islands.  During his absence his parents have been operating his farm north of Withee.
