6. HENRY POPPE b 1876 on a farm 4 miles west of the town of
Longwood, Clark, Wisc. He attended the Bredesen School which
was located on the Louis Miller property, 1 1/2 mile from
Longwood. In his early manhood he floated logs down the steam
on the Black River to the Hemlock Dam near Greenwood. He
worked in the woods for 27 years then retired to farming. He
