Army PFC Joseph Prokop
Graduates basic Infantry training
Army PFC Joseph P. Prokop received the Infantry Blue Cord Nov. 19 and graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, GA Friday, Nov. 20.
During the 14 weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, physical fitness, first aid and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry soldier.
Joseph is the son of Ed and Terri Prokop, Stevens Point, and grandson of Dianne and the late Bill Buettner of Neillsville and Sally and the late Joseph Prokop of Black River Falls.
Prokop is a graduate of Stevens Point Area High School, Stevens Point, and is serving with the Wisconsin Army National Guard Infantry Battalion based in Eau Claire.
