Following is a clipping from a Springfield, Illinois paper concerning Dr. Herman
Schwarze:
Dr. H.R. Schwarze of Chicago, who for three years has been an assistant to Dr.
MacMillan Herzog, the noted bacteriologist and specialist of contagious disease
among cattle, was yesterday appointed by the Illinois livestock commission as
Assistant Director of the state biological laboratory. He will assist Dr. A. T.
Peters, Director, in his work.
Dr. Schwarze is well known for his work and the livestock commission feels that
it has made an excellent choice. Dr. Schwarze is a graduate of the Chicago
Veterinary College. He will commence his duties the latter part of this week or
the first of next week.
