Burns, Judith Ann (9 September 1934 – 11 November 2020)
Judith Ann Burns, age 86 of Merrillan passed away November 11, 2020 at Grandview
Nursing Home in Blair.
She was born September 9, 1934 in Milwaukee, the only child of James and Judith
(Vlasaty) Rose. She married Timothy Burns on February 18, 1966 in Milwaukee.
They relocated from Big Bend, to Merrillan in 1998. Judith worked as a bank
teller for State Bank in Hales Corners. She was an active member of the Hatfield
Sportsman’s Club and Hatfield Road Runner Snowmobile Club.
All her life, Judith loved the outdoors. She liked to go big buck hunting and
was a heck of a shot. She also enjoyed fishing on Lake Arbutus for Crappies and
Bass but found Muskies’ to be more of a challenge. She was also known for
catching Coho Salmon on Lake Michigan.
In addition to everything outdoors, Judith enjoyed gambling and playing cards,
especially sheepshead, cribbage, and poker. She enjoyed travel, visiting
Florida, El Paso, TX and Las Vegas, NV. She also was an avid coin collector.
Judith is survived by her husband Timothy; sons James (Tamara) and Mark;
grandchildren, Kacie, Eric, Lindsay, Alisha Ann and Jared (Claire); two
great-grandchildren, Avayla and Matthew and was soon to welcome her third. She
was preceded in death by her parents.
Due to Covid-19, services will be scheduled at a later date and time, with
internment at the Hatfield Cemetery.
