Eaker, Verna A. (19 March 1922 – 15 May 1999)
Verna A. Eaker (nee Widener) of 11712 Eisenhower Drive, Chili, died at 6:07 p.m.
May 15, 1999, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minn. Verna was formerly
of Covina, Calif. She and her husband, Maynard “Bud” Eaker moved to Wisconsin to
be near their daughter, Elaine, in October 1995.
Mrs. Eaker was born March 19, 1922, in Oakdale, Pa, to Elda (nee Maneely) and
Harry Garfield Widener. She was married to Maynard Eaker on oct. 11, 1946. She
was a loving wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband Maynard, and daughter Elaine Eaker of Chili; her son,
Alan (Vickie) Eaker and granddaughter Andrea Eaker of Camano Island, Wash;
sisters Lois Williams, June Taylor, and Morga Kangas; brothers Bernard, Wilbur
and C. Darrow Widener; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church
of Arpin. Dr. Janet Wolfe will officiate. Gwen Hagemann will be organist.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart
Association.
