Soyk, Russell L. (18 March 1954 – 19 November 2020)
Russell L. Soyk, age 66, of Abbotsford, passed away on Thursday, November 19,
2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later
date.
Russell was born on March 18, 1954, the son of Orville and Lillian (Sorenson)
Soyk in West Bend. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1972. On
September 8, 1978, Russell was united in marriage to Dawn Mahl in Neillsville.
They resided in Abbotsford where they raised four sons.
Russell was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with
his family including trips to Canada to fish and Montana, Colorado and New
Mexico to Elk hunt. Russell was an avid sports fan especially involving his
children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers.
Most importantly, Russell cherished and loved his family, especially his
grandchildren.
Russell is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dawn; four sons: Dan (Cheryl) of
Colby, Ryan (Shannon) of Marshfield, Josh (Alyssa) of Abbotsford and Jordan (Cailee)
of Colby; nine grandchildren: Hunter, Haylee, Addison, Avery, Aleah, Anna,
Nolan, Kollyns and Myla. He is further survived by two brothers, Larry (Karen)
of Abbotsford and Dennis of Loyal; a sister, Mary (Ken) Braun of Abbotsford;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald.
