The Beavers and Queens celebrated the 9th anniversary of their lodge at Woodman
Hall last Friday evening. A program was rendered, consisting of several
recitations and songs, including music by the Kid Orchestra and Hotel de Wedge’s
Band.
District Deputy W. F. Woodward of Neillsville was present and gave an
interesting talk on the prosperity and welfare of the organization. Dan Cook
gave a recitation and displayed a little of his ventriloquism to the amusement
of the youngsters and all present. The hit of the evening was a dance, the
French Four, presented by George Van Voorhis, Charles Varney, Harold Stabnow and
Emil Drummond; the latter two being dressed as women, to the music, Turkey in
the Straw, played by Hotel de Wedge’s Band. After the program a lunch was
served, after which dancing was in order until a late hour.
