Reynolds, James, “Jim” H. (28 September 1925 – 29 November 2020)
James “Jim” H. Reynolds, age 95, of Dorchester, passed away in Medford
surrounded by his loving family under the tender care of Hope Hospice at his
daughter, Maggie Gebauer’s, home on Sunday, November 29, 2020.
Jim was born on September 28, 1925, the son of Fred and Mary (Stetzel) Reynolds
in Marshfield. He attended St. Louis Sister School until the 8th grade, then
went to work at his father’s cheese factory. On July 1, 1950, Jim was united in
marriage to Leora Oehler at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
Jim worked 20 years at his father’s cheese factory before taking over. He then
sold to his brother, Jerry, and farmed for the next 30 years. After his
retirement, he started a tool sharpening business. Jim enjoyed fishing, model
steam engines, traveling with Leora, playing the piano, and especially enjoyed
being with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 70 years, Leora; five children: Nancy (Bill)
Leichtnam of Nekoosa, Maggie Gebauer (Steve Budzinski), John (Lori Janko)
Reynolds, and James (Diann) Reynolds all of Medford and Joseph (Christine)
Reynolds of Colby; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by
his sister, Mary Ann Meyer and a brother, Thomas Reynolds, many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Alvin, Frederick, Jerome
and Theodore Reynolds; three sisters: Violet Rajewski, Grace Wetterau, and
Gladys Zettler; and a son-in-law, Lex Gebauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Timothy Oudenhoven, will be
