NORA SOEFKER/HENRY OLSON MARRIAGE
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Soefker of the West Side was the
scene of a merry crowd last Wednesday, June 27th, 1906, when their
daughter Nora, was united in marriage to Henry Olson, son of Ole
Olson, who lives just east of the city limits (Greenwood, Clark
County). Some 100 guests, including relatives, were present to
witness the ceremony and celebrate the happy occasion.
The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. J. Schmalz, pastor of Emmanuel's
congregation at four o'clock in the afternoon. The bride and groom
were attended by Mary Soefker and Selma Johnson as bridesmaids and
John Olson and David Gustafson as best men.
Following the ceremony making the twain one, all present partook of
a generous wedding supper and in the evening, dancing and general
merry making was indulged in by those so inclined, a large bowery
being erected for the purpose.
Mr. and Mrs. Olson were the recipients of numerous valuable
presents, including a large wagon load of of furniture and
housekeeping paraphernalia. After a month of so they will go to
housekeeping on his land near W. C. Stabnow's place in Beaver.
The Gleaner extends best wishes for the new husband and wife and is
joined in this expression by all friends of the worthy
couple.
