One of the lively social events of the week occurred at Woodman Hall Saturday
evening as a surprise on Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steenberg, given by the Modern
Woodmen and their wives. Fully two hundred were present and made the occasion
memorable by the royal time. Games, recitations by Dan Cook and Mrs. Hiley
Pratt, dancing, refreshments, etc. were on the program. During the evening a
handsome rocker was presented to the hosts. Attorney Tscharner made an
appropriate speech on behalf of the donors. This was responded to on behalf of
Mr. and Mrs. Steenberg by Dan Cook. The occasion was made even more pleasant by
the generous aid of the band boys, who furnished music throughout the evening.
