Bloom, Glen Clyde (17 July 1924 – 2 December 2020)

Glen C. Bloom, 96, of Loyal, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Neillsville Care & Rehab in Neillsville.

Glen Clyde Bloom was born on July 17, 1924, in the town of Beaver, rural Loyal, the son of Henry and Elise (Brechbuhl) Bloom. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Loyal High School in 1942. Glen was united in marriage to Agnes I. Olsen on July 19, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. They raised their family and farmed northeast of Loyal, until retiring and selling the farm in 2000. Besides farming, Glen also hauled milk for a short time. They moved into Loyal and have resided there since.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as the Town of Beaver treasurer for a few years.

Glen had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, raising raspberries, golfing and traveling.

He is survived by two sons: John Bloom of Loyal, and Paul (Karen) Bloom of Westby; close friend of the Bloom family: Cindy (Kevin) Syryczuk of Lublin; one brother: Clifford Bloom of Kailua, HI; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Agnes, on August 23, 2011; two brothers: Leo and Lester Bloom; and two sisters: Inez Ockerhauser and Esther Schultze.

There will be private visitation and private services.
