Engel, Judith Ann (2 April 1944 – 2 December 2020)

Judith Ann Engel, age 76, of Withee, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at home under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice.

Judy was born on April 2, 1944, the daughter of Alfred and Louise (Cooper) Luginbuhl in Waunakee. She worked for General Casualty Insurance in Madison. On November 7, 1964, Judy was united in marriage to Roger Engel in Waunakee.

Judy was a devout Bible student, and she studied the Bible with several different study groups via telephone conferencing. Her strong faith helped her to cope with her long illness. She was a wonderful cook and her and Roger raised a huge garden every summer and canned and froze many jars of food.

Judy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger; their son, Richard Engel (Krista Pocha); her sisters: Beverly (Bill) Fredrickson, Bonnie Droesser, Jenny (Eugene) Meinholz; sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Mark) Photenhauer and Carol (Michael) Jensen. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant twin brother; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Ethel Engel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides from St. Croix Hospice who provided Judy and their family with such compassionate care.
