The sale at the Bushman farm Tuesday of last week was the largest and had more
people in attendance than any sale ever held in this part of the country. The
total receipts were nearly $4,500. Five and one half years ago Mr. Bushman came
to Greenwood and purchased a farm from Henry Lang, consisting of 320 acres,
which he farmed until two years ago, when he sold 120 acres to Frank Wessling.
Later Mr. Bushman sold 40 acres to Emil Kolstad, and a small fraction to Sever
Aalbu, and the balance, he has farmed until he recently sold to Mr. Carl
Grashorn of Mayville. Mr. Bushman purchased the farm for $16,000 and sold again
for $21,800 in five years’ time.
