Last Saturday evening Mrs. P. W. Gullord gave a valentine party to the Senior
Class of the Greenwood High School and their friends.
The girls preceded the boys by half an hour to the home, where they were
received by the hostess and Martha and George Washington, who were represented
by Mary Thompson and Harold Richmond. Reception Miss was Maude Snyder and
reception Boy was Leon Clute.
As fast as the young men arrived they were received and presented with a Cupid’s
arrow, which, on being held over a candle flame, mysteriously brought out the
name of his lady partner for the evening.
Games of all kinds were played and merry laughter and sparkling eyes of the
young people denoted the keenest enjoyment.
A menu, which consisted of fruit salad, sandwiches, marguerettes, olives,
cheese, salted almonds, stuffed dates, Nabisco cake, coffee, and ice cream was
served to a very appreciative crowd. Thos present who gave Mr. and Mrs. Gullord
a heart vote of thanks for a most enjoyable evening of pleasure and
entertainment were:
