Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Hartson tendered a farewell reception at their residence last
Saturday evening to Forrest Varney, who departed for his new position in
Washington, D.C., Tuesday morning. Games and music were the principal amusements
of the evening, and were indulged in until a late hour, everyone having a most
delightful time.
Mr. Varney received the congratulations and best wishes of his friends in the
modest manner of a true gentleman, and we believe that he is now well advanced
on the road that leads to a successful and prosperous future.
A splendid supper was served to the young people at six o’clock, to which the
following did ample justice: Miss Beatrice Howard, Miss Julia Johnson, Wellen
and Velma Hartson, Forrest Varney and Oscar Johnson of Eau Claire.
