West Frances, who was driving the cream wagon of John Wuethrich into this city
Monday, had quite an exciting runaway. As he was coming down hill east of the
North Side Hotel, the horses started to run and young Francis was unable to hold
them, and they soon got beyond control. They were going so fast that they could
not make the corner, but ran into the telegraph pole in the front of the
residence of E. Pfunder, R., upsetting the sleigh and breaking off the little
house used for a wind shield, and in which the driver was sitting, and spilling
out about 400 pounds of cream. Outside the loss of cream, no serious damage was
done.
