The supper and play given by the high school last Friday afternoon and evening
proved to be a great success. The proceed from the supper covered the expenses
incurred in giving the entertainment, and therefore the box office receipts were
clear profits for the high school.
The play, “The Deestrict Skule,” under the direction of Miss Bowen, did much
credit to both teacher and pupils, considering the short time which had been
devoted to the preparation of the different parts. The costumes were especially
good, and the “make ups” clever, which showed an interest and taste on the part
of the various characters.
The entertainment afforded by the play was greatly supplemented by by the
creditable work of the high school orchestra, which is a good demonstrator of
the old maxim, “Practice makes perfect.”
The proceeds from the supper and entertainment, amounting to about thirty
dollars, will go toward offsetting the various high school expenses.
