During the electric storm last week Monday morning, lightning struck the house
known as the “Thomas House” just south of the village of Granton. Mrs. Wm.
Cotton and children were in the house during the storm, and the lighting, which
ran down one side of the building and across the floor, tore the sole from one
of her shoes, burning her foot badly, slivered the boards of the floor and
knocked one of the children down. Both were rendered unconscious, and it was
thought first shock was fatal. They were carried across the road to George
Fradenburg’s home and restorative’s applied. Mother and child have now fully
recovered. Only a few dollars damage was done to the house. (Granton News)
