Rasmussen, Mr./Mrs. Walter (40th – 1975)
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rasmussen of Greenwood celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary on Saturday, October 25, 1975. They were married October 5, 1935 at
Waukegan, Illinois. Two hundred people attended the event which was held for
friends and relatives in Greenwood at the Legion Hall. Music was played and
lunch was served.
Walter Rasmussen, son of Adolph and Ethel Rasmussen, was born August 16, 1909 in
Houghton, Michigan. He came to Wisconsin at the age of four. He received his
education in Greenwood and Madison schools. Since owned and operated the Elmdale
Cheese Factory, where he and his wife reside.
His wife, the former Julia Krze, daughter of Cyril and Agnes Krze, was born
April 26, 1908 (Obit says 1918) in South Chicago. She came to Wisconsin at the
age of ten and attended Greenwood schools. She now operates a grocery store
located at the cheese factory.
The couple had three daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Denk, Waukesha, Mrs. Gene
(Ethel) Jeitz, Minneapolis, and Patricia, Patricia, also of Minneapolis; two
sons, Roy, Greenwood, and Gary, Stevens Point. They also have 15 grandchildren.
They were all present.
