The Spencer Advance is the name of a new paper started at Spencer, Wisconsin. It
is a six column folio, edited by E. W. Stevens, and old newspaper man.
He ran the Portage Advance for a long time in the interest of temperance, and
also he was once connected with the Randolph Enterprise, and last at Madison,
running the Independent, a Green back paper. The Advance is a neat to up paper,
and looks as if success might follow, at least that is our wish, and Brother
Stevens we welcome it weekly visit to the Spy Office. (The Spy, Kingston,
Wisconsin)
