The magnitude of the business done here (Spencer) is indicated by the fact that
one fir, A. Prentice & Company received seven car loads of feed in one week, a
short time since, making eighty four tons, and are only one of several firms
doing business here, though they are doing the largest amount of business of any
one firm in the place. Last Tuesday they received a car load of flour, costing
over six hundred dollars.
