Nursing School in Fond du Lac, graduating in 1965 as a licensed practical nurse.
She then became employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, for over 30

retirement.
She was united in marriage to Charles J. Cherney on May 15, 1965 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Marshfield.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, classic country music, bowling, gardening,
crafts, teaching and caring for children. She was known for baking love into
everything she made.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles and their children, Chris
Cherney of Spencer, Craig (Melissa) Cherney of Spencer and Caryn (Phil) Degneau
of Marshfield. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Aubrey (Mitch) Heiden,
Dana and Ryan Cherney, and Austin and Andrew Degneau and five great
grandchildren, Brandon and Emilee Gebelein, Callie, Lukas and Madisyn Heiden.
She is further survived by a sister, Joyce Wright of Romeoville, IL and a
brother, Mark Sauer of Marshfield, and sisters-in-law, Carolyn, and Cheryl
Sauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ken and Leon Sauer and
sisters, Carol Raab, Deanne Hawley, Kathy Olson and brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law.
