The school meeting convened, as per adjournment, in Gardiner’s Hall, on Tuesday
evening, for the purpose of adopting measures to build a new school house. After
discussing the matter for awhile, it was decided unanimously to build a house 30
x 50 feet, two stories high, 24 foot high posts, with a belfry and a stone
foundation, al to be completed the first day of September; the job to be let to
the lowest responsible bidder. The meeting then adjourned until next Saturday
evening, to meet at the same place, and the building committee was instructed to
prepare specifications for the building, to be presented at the adjourned
meeting. The building, when completed, will be a credit to the district, and an
ornament to the village.

An adjourned meeting of the school district met last Saturday evening and agreed
upon a plan and specifications for the new school house. The meeting then
adjourned to meet next Saturday evening, when the time for letting the contract
will be settled, and mechanics will have an opportunity to figure on the job,
and put in their little bid. The lowest bidder wins the game.
