In a recent press release, the Neillsville Kiwanis Club announced its selection
for the December Junior Kiwanian.
Elizabeth Jorgensen, a senior at Neillsville High School, was the Junior
Kiwanian for December. She is the daughter of Matt and Katie Jorgensen.
“With its purpose of highlighting the achievements of our top students, the
selection of Jorgensen for this award is “well deserved,” wrote Kiwanian Brent
Shoup in a Dec. 22 press release.
Jorgensen is a member of the National Honor Society, has served as class
treasurer for the past two years and has been a member of Being a Leader and
Standing Tall, also known as BLAST, all four years of high school. She has also
been honored twice with all-conference recognition in band.
She has had four years of participation in hockey, softball and cross country.
She has also volunteered with youth hockey, softball and swimming. Jorgensen has
served as a rabbit youth leader in 4-H.
Additionally, Jorgensen volunteers at the local food pantry, has assisted in
many community service projects, and is a member of the Calvary Lutheran youth
group.
“The Neillsville Kiwanis Club is pleased to have talented and ambitious
individuals like Elizabeth Jorgensen as Junior Kiwanians and wish her success as
she pursues her further education,” Shoup wrote.
Following graduation, she intends to pursue studies in environmental science. A
choice of school is not yet determined.
