With this issue the local editor takes a back seat, and departs for other fields
and pursues acres green. Before going away we wish to say that if we have said
anything through the columns of the paper that we are so for, we are glad of it,
and if we have hurt anyone’s feeling we freely forgive them for having any
feelings. If the paper has been dry some weeks, it is our fault, for you all
know that we have worked hard, early and late (wonder if we have), trying to
make a good readable paper. To the friends we have made in Spencer, if any, we
bid a tearful ado, hoping to soon meet you again. To Spencer as a town we say,
go right on as you are doing.
