An Addition has recently been made to the village of Spencer known as the Laabs’
Addition. I consists of nine acres of land lying northeast of the shingle mille,
on each side of the railroad track, and has been divided into eighteen lots,
nine of which have already been sold and contracted for, and three house are
nearly enclosed on the addition. Mr. James Anderson is agent for the lots. Who
will be the next to make an addition to the village, to relieve the cramped
condition of the original plat? Another drawback to the influx of population is
the scarcity of houses. Every house is occupied, and some of them accommodate,
or at least contain two families. It would be a good scheme for someone to build
some more houses to rent. They would speedily find tenants for them.
