Rahilly, G. Thomas (1947 - 1982)
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 27, at the University
of Rochester, Interfaith Chapel, Rochester, N.Y., for Dr. G. Thomas
Rahilly, 35, of Rochester.
Dr. Rahilly was killed on July 24, 1982, when his moped collided
head on with a car. He was on his way to work at the Strong
Memorial Hospital at the time. The 84-year old woman driver of the
car that struck him told police officers the sun was in her eyes.
She was charge with failure to yield the right-of-way.
Dr. Rahilly had been associated with the Greenwood, Clark County
Clinic from 1976 to 1978. A native of Franklin, Ky., he had worked
at the strong Memorial Hospital since moving to Rochester. He
headed electrophysiology, a specialized unit within the cardiology
unit. The unit he developed was one of few existing in the
nation.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, three daughters, Katy, 7 Louisa,
5 and Elizabeth, 9 months his mother, Mrs. Dick Taylor of Jackson,
Miss. his father, Dr. George T. Rahilly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. two
sisters and three brothers.
Memorial contributions are requested for the Cardiology Research
Fund, Box 679, Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Ave.,
Rochester, N.Y. 14642.
