Killion, Alice (1893 - 1982)
Alice Killion, 89, formerly of Greenwood,
Clark County, who has been residing at Memorial Home, Neillsville,
died Thursday, evening, Aug. 19, at the Home.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, at Grace United Methodist
Church, Greenwood. Rev. Frank Wolfe of Westfield officiated and
burial was in the Protestant Cemetery at Briggsville.
Alice Hindes was born on April 7, 1893, at Briggsville to Martin
and Jenny (nee Gray) Hindes. She received her education at
Briggsville.
She was married to James Killion on Jan. 1, 1912, at Endeavor. He
died in 1935.
They farmed in the Briggsville area until 1923, when they moved to
the Town of Eaton and farmed. Mrs. Killion moved to the City of
Greenwood in 1936 and made her home with her daughters.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its Ladies
Aid.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Irene Rodgers and Mrs.
Arthur (Gwen) Christie, both of Greenwood one son, Elmer of
Wauwatosa two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Tangney of Greenwood and Mrs.
Jenny Van Choyck of Portage five grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons one brother and three
sisters.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Lyle, Scott, Hugh, Art and
James Christie and David Halverson. Rinka Funeral Home handled
arrangements.
