Diemer, Elizabeth (1892 - 1982)


Mrs. T. E. (Elizabeth) Diemer, 90, of Colonial House of Colby, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Saturday, Aug. 28, 1982, at 10:15 p.m., where she had been a patient the past week.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Officiating was Rev. Joseph Kraly. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.

Elizabeth Schmalz was born in the Town of Wien, Marathon County, on Feb. 5, 1892. She was a graduate of Wausau High school and Wausau School of Business.

Before her marriage to Rev. T. E. Diemer on Aug. 27, 1914, in the Town of Wien, she was employed as a bookkeeper. After their marriage, they lived in Stratford, where he was pastor of Zion Lutheran Church for 40 years. After his retirement in 1952, they moved to Loyal, Clark County. She lived with a daughter after her husband's death in Oct. 1958. Since 1977, she had been residing at Colonial House of Colby.

Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Ethel) Myre of Loyal three sons, Rev. H. K. Diemer of Oconto Falls, Lothar and Frederic, both of Toledo, Ohio ten grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Stilp, Wausau.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were one son, Roland in 1980 twin sons in infancy her parents, Rev. Karl and Elizabeth (nee Gutzman) Schmalz one brother and one sister.

Serving as pallbearers were Mike and Steven Diemer, Jeff Harwell, Tom Brussow, David Myre and Walter Luepke, Jr. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
