Briski, Katherine (1888 - 1982)
Mrs. Katherine Briski, 94, of 117 N. Crocker,
Greenwood, Clark County, died at 10:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 20,
1982, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24, at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Officiating will be Major
Chaplain Matthew G. Malnar of Remstein, Germany. Burial will be in
the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood after 3
p.m., Thursday, until 6:30 p.m. when the body will be taken to the
church. Visitations will be at the church beginning at 7 p.m. A
prayer service will be at 8 p.m., Thursday, at the church.
Katherine Zagar was born to John and Katherine (nee Minerich) Zagar
on June 20, 1888, at Delnice, Austria. She was educated at rural
European schools.
On Feb. 2, 1906, she and Matt Briski were married at Atlantic Mine,
Mich. They lived in Michigan and Minnesota, and came to Wisconsin
in 1918 and settled on a farm in the Town of Mead. They moved to
the City of Greenwood in 1949.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Ann's
Society. She was also a member of SNPJ Lodge.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Matt (Mary) Malnar of
Greenwood, Mrs. Elizabeth Stimac of Greenwood, Mrs. Joe (Julia)
Vivoda of Spring Hill, Fla., Mrs. Steven (Katherine) Gulczinski of
Minneapolis, Mrs. Angeline Gulczinski of Greenwood, Mrs. Stanley
(Rose) Malaszuk of Greenwood, and Mrs. Stanley (Dolores) Lendosky
of Thorp six sons, Frank of Greenwood, Tony of Berwyn, Ill. Robert
of Greenwood, Theodore of Greenwood, Albert of Altoona and John of
Withee 45 grandchildren 56 great-grandchildren and nine
great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Matt, who died on June 3,
1953 one son, Matt several grandchildren her parents and several
brothers and sisters.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge of arrangements.
