Potter, Robert (1925 - 1982)
Robert Potter, 57, of Route 2, Spencer, died
at 5:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 1, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield.
Funeral services for Mr. Potter were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday,
Oct. 4, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Officiating was
Rev. James Logan. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery.
A 3:15 p.m. Parish council of Catholic Women Rosary, and 8 p.m.
Prayer service and an 8:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary were
said on Sunday evening.
Robert Potter was born to Home and Loretta (nee Morehead) Potter at
Greenwood, Clark County on Aug. 18, 1925, and received his
education at Eaton Center School and St. John's school in
Marshfield.
Before his marriage to Norma Strey on June 8, 1950, at Spencer, he
served in the Coast Guard for two years. After his marriage, he
farmed in the Town of Sherman for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal and of the
Knights of Columbus.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving him are his wife, Norma three daughters, Mrs. Michael
(Kathy) of Hewitt, Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Tritz of Hewitt and Mrs.
Dennis (Sharon) Rollins of Spencer two sons, Randy of Chili and
Steve of Spencer on brother, Ray of Wis. Rapids one sister, Mrs.
Alois (Mary Jane) Van Ert of and seven grandchildren.
Full military rites were conducted by the Loyal American Legion.
Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Fetting, Merlin Gardner, Charles
Weis, Gerald Lucht, David Kautzer and Dale Rothamer. Rinka Funeral
Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
