Vogel, Sadie (1897 - 1982)


Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, for Mrs. Sadie Vogel, 85, of 305 E. First St., Loyal.

Mrs. Vogel died at 12:10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 4, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Rev. Joseph Kraly officiated at the service and burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.

Sadie Kurtzheim was born on Jan. 8, 1897, at Waukesha to Gustava and Martha (nee Voss) Kurtzheim. She attended the Loyal Schools.

She and Mathew Vogel were married at Neillsville on Oct. 3, 1916. She was employed by Dairy Belt Cheese Factory in Spencer for a number of years. She lived all her life in Loyal.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, Loyal Senior Citizens and the Birthday Club.

She is survived by one son, Halbert of Milwaukee three daughters, Mrs. Velma Brecht of Owen, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Lockhart of Yankee Town, Fla. And Mrs. Warren (Joan) Drew of Saucier, Miss. two sisters, Mrs. Florence Spurgeon of Loyal and Mrs. Evelyn Arthur of Grafton one brother, Alfred Kurtzheim of Cedarburg one half-brother, Gary Krause of Milwaukee 15 grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Mathew, on Jan. 21, 1970 her parents two sisters and one brothers.
