Drowned in Poplar River
Henry KUNTZ, the 18 year old son of Abraham KUNTZ of this city
(Marshfield, Wood Co), was drowned in the Poplar River, 10 miles
north of Colby (Clark Co) on Thursday evening of last week.
He was employed as cookee for the camp of river drivers and it was
in the evening that the accident occurred. In trying to ride a log,
he slipped and was thrown into the stream, drowning before help
could assist him out of the water.
The remains were brought to this city on Friday evening and on
Sunday the funeral, which was very largely attended, took place
from the Lutheran church. The parents have the sympathy of the
community.
