Haslow, Alvin R. (1899 - 1982)


Funeral services for Alvin R. Haslow, 83, of Route 1, Loyal, Town of Sherman, Clark County, were conducted on Monday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.

Mr. Haslow died at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Joseph R. Kraly. Interment was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery.

Alvin Haslow was born on Oct. 21, 1899, in the Town of Sherman and received his education at Catlin Corner School and German School.

He farmed all his life in the Town of Sherman, retiring in 1977.

He and Ida Geisler were married on Oct. 25, 1929, at Loyal. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1979.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife one son, Harvey of Loyal one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Schwantes of Spencer two brothers, Joh of Spencer and Arnold of Loyal and two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Emma) Bredlau of Loyal and Mrs. George (Hilda) Bredlau of Neillsville.

He was predeceased by one son in infancy his parents, Gustave and Bertha (nee Scheel) Haslow and one brother, Paul. His sister, Meta, died on Nov. 14, 1982.

Robert Missling, Harold Lemke, Donald Bugar, Clyde Grambsch, Leland Larson and Steve Brussow served as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
